Degree: BA Economics
After graduating from Richmond in 2002 with my BA in Economics I went straight into the Master’s program in Economics at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. I graduated from Tulane in December of 2003 and moved back to my home town of Baltimore, Maryland.
I am now an Economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, D.C. I work in the Balance of Payments Division where I estimate foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury and Agency debt. My division produces the headline-grabbing Current Account Deficit, the quarterly Balance of Payments of the United States and the annual International Investment Position of the U.S.
Everyday I work with macroeconomic data and observe the impact that international bond market shifts, stock exchange fluctuations, foreign exchange rate changes and domestic and international politics have on the U.S. economy.
I enjoy what I do and would not be able to do it without a degree in Economics.
