Julia Hathaway recently presented a paper at the 2nd English for Academic Purposes Conference: 'EAP Innovations in Tertiary Settings: Proposals and Implementations' in Kavala, Greece. This important event was attended by experts and specialists in EAP from all over the world.

Julia's paper entitled, 'Stealing Voices, Wearing Masks: how student writers can explore and assume new academic writing identities', drew on the experience of students from the Richmond course, ENG 215, Principles of Academic Research. The paper located within this experience, the theory and debates of the field of Applied Linguistics, Academic Literacies and English for Academic Purposes.

The work of Richmond's Academic Literacies Program is central to the academic development of Richmond students and is recognized for both its quality and currency.
